And that could mean big changes for subscribers to the company\u2019s most popular streaming service, HBO Max.<\/p>\n<p>After receiving unsolicited acquisition offers, WBD recently <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2025\/10\/warner-bros-discovery-raises-hbo-max-prices-as-it-puts-itself-up-for-sale\/\">declared itself open<\/a> to \u201cstrategic alternatives to maximize shareholder value.\u201d WBD <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/biz\/news\/comcast-warner-bros-discovery-bankers-bid-1236571997\/\">drew new attention<\/a> by being open to selling its streaming business (WBD is also still open to moving forward with <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/warner-bros-discovery-split-two-companies-streaming-tv-1236423250\/\">previously shared plans<\/a> to split into a cable company and a streaming and movie studios company next year).<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, mergers and acquisitions talk has heated up since then, with Paramount as one of the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/11\/05\/warner-bros-discovery-wbd-sale-split-plans-deadline.html\">eager suitors<\/a>. Paramount, which <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/paramount-skydance-media-cbs-trump-merger-a030c4f2c1903ed0e7f927782a64fcc0\">merged with Skydance<\/a> in August, is reportedly planning to keep \u201cmuch of Warner Bros.
