It&#8217;s a system consisting of a stack of AI models and content filters that make sure its outputs don&#8217;t embarrass OpenAI or get the company into legal trouble when its bot occasionally <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/information-technology\/2023\/04\/why-ai-chatbots-are-the-ultimate-bs-machines-and-how-people-hope-to-fix-them\/\">makes up potentially harmful facts<\/a> about people.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, that reality made the news when <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/venturetwins\/status\/1862910201113739328\">people discovered<\/a> that the name &#8220;David Mayer&#8221; breaks ChatGPT. 404 Media also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.404media.co\/not-just-david-mayer-chatgpt-breaks-when-asked-about-two-law-professors\/\">discovered<\/a> that the names &#8220;Jonathan Zittrain&#8221; and &#8220;Jonathan Turley&#8221; caused ChatGPT to cut conversations short. And we know another name, likely the first, that started the practice last year: Brian Hood.
