🎤 First Experience in the ESDP English Speech Contest
This competition marked the student’s first time participating in the ESDP English Speech Contest. When the student discovered they had won an award, the feeling was incredibly exciting and unforgettable.
The student believed their performances during the preliminary round and semi-final round were strong and confident. However, the final round felt slightly less perfect than expected. Despite that, receiving third prize was still a proud and meaningful achievement.
Rather than seeing the result as a limitation, the student views the experience as a valuable learning opportunity and believes that future competitions will bring even stronger results.
📚 Preparation and Hard Work
Preparation for the contest began one month before the preliminary round. During that time, the student searched for different materials to support arguments and improve the speech script.
In the week leading up to the semi-finals and finals, the student focused on reading English materials to broaden general knowledge and improve language fluency. This preparation helped strengthen the overall structure and depth of the speech.
⏱ The Challenge of Impromptu Speaking
One of the most challenging parts of the contest was the impromptu speech segment, where contestants were given only 15 seconds to prepare before speaking.
The topics were deep and thought-provoking, requiring quick thinking and strong language ability. In addition, speaking while facing the intense attention of the judges made the experience even more challenging.
Despite the pressure, the student embraced the challenge and gained valuable experience in public speaking and quick thinking.
🌏 Early Exposure to English
The student began learning English at a young age after attending an international school since elementary school. This early exposure helped build strong vocabulary skills and a natural understanding of the language.
These advantages played an important role in preparing for the English speech competition and expressing ideas confidently on stage.

The student expressed deep appreciation to the teachers and family members who supported this journey.
Special thanks were given to English teacher Miss Liu, who provided guidance and inspiration both in daily studies and during the preparation for the competition.
