I built **Engramlabz**, an AI-powered engine that turns math questions into fully animated explainer videos for around **$1**.
🌐 **Try it:** http://www.engramlabz.com/
You can type a question like:
**”Why do just 23 people give a roughly 50.7% chance that two share a birthday?”**
The system then creates the explanation, writes the animation code, generates the narration, adds captions, and renders the final video.
### 🧠 How it works
* ✍️ A language model writes the explanation and animation code
* 📐 **Manim** generates the mathematical animations
* 🎙️ TTS generates the narration
* 📝 Captions are added automatically
* 🎬 A render farm produces the final 4K MP4
Unlike typical AI video generation, the visuals aren’t generated as random pixels. The animations are **vector-based and created with code**, meaning mathematical equations, diagrams, and graphs can be rendered accurately.
The result is an animated math explainer that would traditionally require significant time and money to produce.
💰 **Cost:**
• Short videos: around $1
• 10-minute explainers: around $2.50
This demo is the **birthday paradox**, showing why 23 people are enough to reach a ~50.7% probability of a shared birthday.
The script for this particular demo was also tightened by hand, so this represents a best-case result rather than the average output.
I’m planning to add **in-video editing** next.
What math, science, programming, or technical topic should I throw at it next?
