In today’s video, we’re comparing two trading robots from the same developer: EA Black Dragon and Hamster Scalping. We’ll look closely at their trading performance, especially regarding profitability and risk management. Before we begin, if you find this video helpful, please don’t forget to like it, and subscribe to stay updated on future content.
We start by analyzing Hamster Scalping, which initially rode a strong uptrend on USD/CAD but eventually took a significant loss of $93. This loss wasn’t entirely unexpected, as similar patterns were seen in past videos. Due to this, I’ve disabled new cycles for Hamster Scalping and plan to explore ways to trade it on a dedicated account. By adding an IceFX draw profit tool to the chart, you can see a record of all previous trades. Though the total profit peaked above $1,200, I find the EA’s counter-trend strategy too aggressive, making it prone to large losses.
Next up, EA Black Dragon. Using a dual indicator strategy, it’s noticeably less aggressive compared to Hamster Scalping. I’ve been trading it on multiple pairs (AUD/CAD, NZD/CAD, EUR/USD) on a 15-minute chart with indicator settings set to the hourly. Out of all, NZD/CAD has shown the best results due to its more aggressive setup. Comparing these with Hamster Scalping’s losses, EA Black Dragon emerges as the better choice.
For each EA, I track performance using Myfxbook, which makes it easy to assess profitability and losses. While Hamster Scalping struggles, EA Black Dragon has successfully recovered from drawdowns, especially on pairs like AUD/CAD and NZD/CAD, using an overlapping technique for mean reversion pairs. AUD/CAD, for example, brought in over $1,400 in profit, though it did experience some drawdown.
Stratos Goldwind, trading aggressively on EUR/USD, is also on this account. While its performance fluctuates, I’ve paired it with EA Black Dragon to help recover losses, and it’s generated over $700 in profit. I’ll continue trading both EUR/USD and gold set files for Stratos Goldwind, and next week, we’ll dive into a more detailed review of this EA, along with the Stratos Pali indicator.
Finally, I’ll be launching a new account featuring multiple EA Black Dragon set files, which will be trading live here on the channel. If you’re interested in following its performance, be sure to subscribe. Over time, these three set files have yielded a 19.92% gain, or about $38, with a drawdown of 18.42%. Since they trade mean reversion pairs, they’ve achieved solid returns, though drawdown has been high. This new account will also be tracked on Myfxbook for transparency.
As always, algo trading requires the right tools, so make sure to have a high-speed VPS with low latency. Check the video description for more details on the EAs and VPS I use. Thanks for watching, and until next time, happy trading!
