From Sacred Sounds to Sanskrit Script: A Beginner’s Introduction

Have you ever wanted to explore the Bhagavad Gītā, Upaniṣads, Yoga Sūtras, Rāmāyaṇa, or other Hindu scriptures in their original language, but assumed that Sanskrit would be too difficult to learn? Translations can introduce us to these profound texts, but even the best translation cannot fully convey the layered meanings, precision, beauty, and power of the original Sanskrit.

This introductory webinar welcomes everyone who is curious about Sanskrit, Hindu philosophy, Yoga, sacred chanting, or the scriptural traditions of Hindu Dharma. Participants will discover what makes Sanskrit unique, why pronunciation and script provide the essential foundation for further study, and how learning the language can deepen one’s connection with Hindu knowledge and practice.

No previous knowledge of Sanskrit or Devanāgarī is required. The webinar will also introduce HUA’s Introduction to Sanskrit Sounds and Script I, a carefully structured course that helps complete beginners learn Sanskrit sounds, pronunciation, and script in a supportive academic environment.
