You already know the easy part. Two lines cross, you buy. Nobody tells you the rest — and the rest is the only bit that decides whether the trade survives.
This is the 9 EMA / 21 SMA crossover, set up from scratch on TradingView, on a real EURUSD 1-hour chart.
📊 THE SETUP (TradingView, built-in, free):
1. Indicators menu at the top of your chart.
2. Add Moving Average Exponential. Set Length to 9.
3. Add it again — this time Moving Average Simple, Length 21.
4. That’s the whole tool. Two lines, nothing bought, nothing installed.
📌 THE RULES:
• The 9 crosses UP through the 21 → buy.
• The 9 crosses DOWN through the 21 → sell.
• Wait for the candle to CLOSE. A cross halfway through a candle can un-cross before it ends.
🎯 THE HALF NOBODY FILMS:
• Stop: the previous swing — the last point price turned from.
• Target: double your risk.
• And the honest bit: a crossover crosses a LOT when price goes nowhere. The video shows a real 39-candle stretch of the same pair with six crosses in it that ends where it started. That is the known weakness of every crossover ever taught, and it is why the stop and the target matter more than the signal.
