BTC ripped 5.2% and even printed a daily TBO open long, but Aaron’s main takeaway today was caution, not celebration. Historically, those open longs on big bullish candles have often shown up near local tops, and the bigger issue is that BTC’s macro trend is still bearish while the Slow line keeps pointing down. Even if BTC squeezes a bit higher from here, this still looks more like a pivot-high zone than a clean trend reversal.
The short term picture is a little better than the macro picture. Volume improved nicely on the move, OBV reclaimed its average, and the weekly TBT bullish divergence is starting to look interesting. But Aaron’s point was that these early bullish reversal signals are usually early, which means chop, fakeouts, and another flush are still very possible before any real bottom is confirmed. April can still squeeze higher, but that does not automatically cancel the bear market structure.
ETH also pushed into short term resistance, ETHBTC finally tagged the top of the cloud, and BTC.D still looks strong enough to keep pressure on alts. Stablecoin dominance eased, but OTHERS.D and OTHERS/BTC are still not giving the kind of broad alt strength that would make this move feel healthy. TOTALES is showing some early bullish reversal potential on the weekly, but alts still look fragile overall.
TradFi helped the bounce after the DXY drop and the Iran headline, but Aaron still sees this as a news-driven move that should be treated skeptically. ES and NYFANG snapped higher but are already getting stretched, USDJPY got rejected again, and oil plus metals are still sending mixed signals. On the watchlist, HYPE still looks extended, NEAR remains constructive but weaker on RSI, ENA, PUMP, FIL, VIRTUAL, and THETA look more like relief bounce charts than confirmed trend changes, and WLFI, ZEC, MORPHO, SKY, SYRUP, and ZRO still need caution. The biggest message today was simple: yes, this bounce can continue a bit more, but the market still looks much more like a bear market squeeze than a durable all-clear.
